These words give the picture in the mind of Macbeth and why he was involved in the conflict and what he thought would be the way forward. He wanted to win the favour of the lady so that he can have the confidence to move on. He feared that this war would be in vain if the course of his war was not valued. He really wanted to be the man.

In a moment of despair, everybody looks for a way of consolation. Macbeth feels that if he had passed on earlier, he would not have had to experience so much hearth ache in his struggle for control. Malcom encourages him that even thou he felt weak, he did not have to make his opponents realize it. His victory was in persistence.

ANSWER:
Lady Macbeths predictions were based on the concept of masculinity. She challenges Macbeth that if he was as great a man as he claimed, then Manguo should not be a threat. This makes Macbeth to hire assasins to kill manguo. This act itself and the coming of the witch makes the story unfold further in that Macbeth developes an aggression to conquer. Would Lady Macbeth not have challenged this hero, may be the quest would have halted and order would have been restored immediately. From another perspective, this issue of masculinity would not have caused the death of Macduffs wife and son. When he learns of their murders, Malcolm consoles him without mercy and encourages him to take the news as a man would. This act thou fuels hatred against Macbeth, it consequently brings sense into these men. This would have brought order into the kingdom if they would have gone forward into coronation.
