Summarize basic design dimensions and structural configurations of an organization
Successful organizations are able to identify, coordinate, and integrate key structural elements. These can be formal and informal. Effective managers understand how the development of an organization’s structure emerges from internal and external forces. When the structural elements are well-coordinated and integrated, the organization can be successful. When not, the organization is likely to experience severe difficulties.

Think about the organization you work for (or an organization with which you are familiar). How would you describe the organization on each of the basic design dimensions? For example, is it a very formal organization or an informal organization?

For your written assignment, summarize the structural configuration of the organization you identified above based on the five choices in Table 15.2 (page 561). Do you need more information than you have to be comfortable with your classification and description? Where could you get the information?

Your assignment should be two to three pages in length, written in APA style format. You must reference two or three quality, peer-reviewed journal articles in your paper.

Reference all sources using APA format. For guidance using APA format, please refer to the table in the APA Style section of the syllabus.
