Paragraph Task
Ethics Decision Paper (25%)
Format: Write a six-paragraph paper no more than one page in total. It may be single-spaced. Use 11- or 12-point font, 1-inch margins.
Content: A major outcome of this course is to be able to:
• Clearly identify and comprehensively define ethical issues
• Identify appropriate approach/model and apply it completely
• Defend the decision/recommendation/conclusion appropriately, persuasively, and consistently with the approach/model.
The Ethics Decision Paper is highly structured to demonstrate achievement of that outcome. Clear, concise thinking is required. The six paragraphs of this paper are to specifically address:
1 Briefly state an ethics issue you personally face now or faced recently.
2 Briefly state all decision choices possible.
3 Identify the best decision choice.
4 Briefly justify that choice using Individual Models (Session 1). Specifically address both moral reasoning stage and orientation. (Identify the models by name, but you may assume the reader knows the models so you do not have to define them.)
5 Briefly justify that choice using at least one Business Model (Session 2). (Identify the models by name, but you may assume the reader knows the models so you do not have to define them.)
6 Briefly justify that choice using at least one Societal Model (Session 6). Specifically address “values.” (Identify the models by name, but you may assume the reader knows the models so you do not have to define them.)
