This research paper is intended to disprove the Autism-vaccine debate that has taken the world by storm in the last decade. This debate is something that I have researched since my nephew, whom I adore, was diagnosed with Autism in 2009. While researching information to learn how to deal with his disorder, I came across piles of information blaming vaccinations for the recent increases in autism rates. This topic grabbed my attention immediately sine I am in the medical field and plan to become a nurse. The more I researched the on topic, the more I realized how absurd this accusation was. The most absurd part of the whole debate is blaming the rise in autism on a preservative called thimerosal. However, this was removed from vaccines in 1992, yet rates are still on the rise. By reading tons of articles and studies on the matter, I have learned that a large percentage of people believe that there is a link between vaccinations and autism. While some have valid points, I intend to show why medically there is no such link. Even with all of the research and overwhelming amount of information, it seems there may never be a definite answer to whether vaccinations lead to autism. It seems that the more research is done on the topic, the more information is released showing there is no link between the two.

This research paper gives reader’s officer’s perspectives on what goes on in their minds during accusations such as, excessive force, racism, or even rape allegations amongst their department. The media broadcasts negative attention on local law enforcement because it raises ratings. Does the media broadcast the heroic work? A breach of trust is nothing new to families who have “bad apples.” Perhaps you have felt the betrayal of a love one arrested for a drug charge, or far worse, like molestation. The inexcusable act’s a loved one commits causes their love ones to become angry, embarrassed, or ashamed. However, most families attempt to handle the matter privately attempting to minimize the number of people who know. When an officer of the law is arrested, tried, convicted, or just accused the “silent code family” is unable to keep details quiet. Details of such incidents are thrown into the public eyes with misrepresentation from the media. The officers can never address the media or even discus job related incidents. Fellow officers of such accused members feel the same natural feelings of embarrassment and anger. Comments from the public become overwhelming to officers scrutinized. There is no such thing as “keeping it quiet.” All officers working in patrol divisions face comments from a skeptical cynical public, but what part of the public personal have these negative attitudes towards Police, and why? One bad officer should not take away from the entire force as if they are all guilty. Having trust is essential in policing.

The purpose of my intended research paper is to disprove or merely ask the question, “Do video games have an adverse or violent effect on today’s youth?” In my paper I will explore countless studies that have been done on the effects of video games on either if they have a negative or positive result on young minds. I will also go into multiple occasions where video games are a target of negative media and if it was a justifiable attack or just a scapegoat that the media uses as an outlet. I will also explore different cultures like Japan and gather their views on the video game industry and have a compare and contrast between the United States and the rest of the world. The question I will really ask is this, “Why are we, as individuals not taking responsibility for our own actions and constantly blaming something else rather than ourselves?”
