Thesis statement: Technology generally changes our life in every aspects, but it also cause our personal privacy is violated.

Fhilip E. Agre is a former associate professor of information studies at the University of California, Los Angeles.The authors are international experts in the technical, economic, and political aspects of privacy. Author generally tells reader the development of technology and how it can be considered as a landscape. He indicate that internet changes our life in many aspects, but we also need to understand the current state of technology privacy issue. Author though laws, police and technology structure to analyze this issue in the range of United State, Canada and Europe. Because this is becoming the new thread and problems of all of us, author introduce how to design a safe information system.

Hyunyi Cho is a Ph.D. In Michigan State University and studies in communication field. Rober LaRose is a professor in Michigan State University and he is in Telecommunication department. This journal article focuses on trash email, spam email and online surveys. From their subjective science research on privacy, authors concludes that online surveys several violations physical, informational, and psychological privacy comparing traditional surveys. Also, online surveys violates the privacy of online interactions, which is hard to be find out by tradition ways. Based on their research, they recommend to use acceptable ways to protection users’ privacy on online surveys.

Dr. Gurpreet Dhillon is a MIS professor at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and has over 100 published article about internet. Trevor T. Moores has been an Assistant Professor of Information Systems at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas since 2000, and he also published many articles in IT and software field. This journal article introduces the booming development of internet industry and consideration about internet privacy in recent years. Basic on this consideration, authors identify what internet privacy really is and systematically organize the article into five sections, and clearly determine the major internet privacy issue.

Author indicate that internet is a major issue in the worldwide and become a major topic on conversation at the Internet Summit. Author think that self-regulation is a good way to restrict privacy violation. He focus on the European Union legislation which published in Oct. 1998. Form this example, he recommend to find a way to protect personal privacy by self-regulation.

This journal article focuses on internet of things. After the foundation construction of internet, internet of things is not far from us, and it is needed for this society. Internet of things can make everything smart and connect everything together. It will changes our normal life and spawn new business. The basic function of internet of things is to collect data, track data and analyze them. But the big challenge of this is privacy violation, especially personal data. In this situation, the article explain how to define internet privacy issue, how will internet of things develop and how can we face the challenge of internet privacy.

Sherry Turkle is a professor in MIT Science and Technology department. In Sherry Turkle’s essay “Can You Hear Me Now” explains readers some negative respects of technology and how it influences our normal life. Turkle use her experiences to support five different aspects to prove that technologies have negative influence our normal life, such as spending too much time on virtual life instead of thinking about ourselves, internet and smartphones took away teenagers’ independence, and damage our personal privacy.
