universal healthcare

MY Topic: Should universal healthcare be available to all regardless of their ability to pay in the same way that other services  such as education are available to all for free.

EXAMPLE OF REQUIRED FORMAT BELOW:

Week 3, prompt option #1: Creating an Inductively Strong argument

This week we are learning about the power of inductive reasoning. Inductive reasoning is not only extremely common, but it can also provide very good evidence for conclusions. This discussion prompt allows you to present an inductive version of the argument that you have been developing in this course.

Prepare: To prepare to write this discussion, read Chapters 5 and 6, focusing especially the section on “Strengthening Inductive Reasoning” in Chapter 5. Take a look as well at the required resources from this week, including What is a strong argument? [Link]

Reflect: Create a new (and improved) version of the argument that you have been developing throughout this course. Try to make sure that all of your premises are true and that your reasoning is inductively strong. Again, consider how someone with the opposite point of view might criticize your argument and see if you can improve it to avoid those objections.

Write: Present your argument in standard form and explain any weaknesses that might remain. A weakness could mean a premise that many might disagree with or questions about the strength of the inference. Indicate briefly how you might address those weaknesses to strengthen your argument further. What further information might strengthen your argument the most?

EXAMPLE of Format and previous post the you assisted me with on this same topic.

Topic: Should universal healthcare be available to all regardless of their ability to pay in the same way that other services  such as education are available to all for free.

Premise 1: A vibrant and productive nation and society requires good health and education.

Premise 2: The government is responsible for the provision of free and quality essential services such as education in bid of the development of a productive nation.

Premise 3: The provision of free universal healthcare to all citizens regardless of their ability to pay will result into an improved productive society for the building of the nation.

Conclusion: Therefore, universal healthcare should be made free and available for all regardless of their ability to pay in the same way that other services  such as education are available to all for free. Each premise emanates from each other and the conclusion is deducted from the basis of the premises supporting each other. The strength of this argument takes into consideration that the government has already availed some of the essential services such as education in aim of a productive society. It is also noteworthy that access to comprehensive and quality healthcare is a human right and hence qualifies as legitimate responsibility of the government (Kucinich, 2009). Hence, it follows that access to universal healthcare is not a privilege based the economic status of citizens in a democratic society. Thus, this raises the need for the same to be extended to the provision of universal healthcare (Ackom, 2009).
