 The final individual paper is to be at least 15 pages (not including the title page, table of contents, abstract, and reference page), which mean 15 body pages plus the other required pages.

 

 

 

 You are required, at the very least, to have 10 scholarly references. This means peer-review journal articles, books, etc., not basic websites or non-scholarly articles.

 

 The paper will be graded using Shorter University’s standard writing rubric.

The final individual project has several sections. Students will begin with the following problem:

 

 

As I am close to completing my associate of science degree, I realize I am at a crossroads in my career and life. Where do I go from here? What do I do next?

 

 

 

The following sections are required:

 

 Introduction

 

 Problem Statement (obstacle(s) to your goal)

 

 Justification of the Problem (explain your obstacle)

 

 Research the Problem (research your obstacle – what are others saying about your obstacles?)

 

 Develop Three Alternatives Including Pros and Cons of Each (alternative plans)

 

 Recommendation (choose one from the three alternatives or your original goal)

 

 Conclusion

 

 References

 

 

Capstone Presentation: You are required to present your final project in a 10-slide, 15-minute presentation in Class 8. Your instructor will provide details, and you will be graded using Shorter University’s standard presentation rubric. In the event your class is in summer and the overlap week is in effect, the instructor will move the presentation to Class 7 and give alternate work in Moodle Class 8.
