It is critical for you to think strategically about your future.  How are you going to separate yourself from the thousands of students seeking employment?  How are you going to achieve your dreams of securing an outstanding career opportunity upon graduation? 

Students must secure relevant and unique skills and experiences.  They must also create a “buzz” about their personal brand.  Finally, students must take care of their physical and mental health.  You will need to address these three components of achieving competitive separation in your paper. 

Section 1 – Secure Relevant and Unique Skills and Experiences – 60 Points

What are your career goals?  How are you going to secure relevant and unique skills and experiences to achieve your career goals?   

Your grade on this section will be based on the following criteria:

Did you discuss relevant and unique strategies to separate yourself from others entering the marketplace?  50 Points

Is your answer in this section at least four typed pages?  10 Points

Section 2 – Create a “Buzz” in the Marketplace – 25 Points

How are you going to get the word out to others about your personal brand? 

Your grade on this section will be based on the following criteria:

Did you discuss relevant and unique strategies to create a buzz in the marketplace about your personal brand?  20 Points

Is your answer in this section at least three typed pages?  5 Points

Section 3 – Mental and Physical Health- 15 Points

How are you going to enhance your mental and physical health during your career search?

Your grade on this section will be based on the following criteria:

Did you discuss strategies to enhance your mental and physical health as you search for a career opportunity? – 10 Points

Is your answer in this section at least two typed pages?  5 Points

You are required to turn in your paper at the end of class on Monday, April 22.  Please bring your papers to class on that day.  No late papers will be accepted. 

Please make sure your paper is double-spaced, typed, and stapled.  Attach a bibliography if applicable.  You are welcome to turn in a paper up to 20 typed and double-spaced pages.  The minimum page requirement is 10 pages.
