Motivation in Theory and Practice

We need our plans in order to achieve our goal for which we require some sources of motivation. In order to motivate somebody to achieve a desired goal, we have to give reason(s) so that one should act or behave in a particular way. Furthermore, we can follow different types of reinforcements with different rewards and punishments. For example, I experimented on my kitten by continuously reinforcing it. I gave kitten punishments for every undesired behavior. Moreover, when we were playing together I noticed an undesirable action and I immediately spray water on the kitten. In the end, kitten stopped doing all undesirable behaviors. On the other hand, I used different approach of motivation by giving rewards. For instance, I gave the kitten treats as a reward for some of the desired attitudes. After couple of weeks, the kitten starts to distinguish between what behaviors I like and what I hate. I noticed an improvement in it, as it is avoiding behaviors which I do not like such as, drinking from the flash tank in the washroom or scratching my hands when playing together. In conclusion, by giving rewards and punishment to my kitten in different situations in order to correct undesired behaviors or to encourage wanted attitudes changed the behavior of the kitten which motivated me to achieve my goals.
